About

I was born in a city in Zhejiang, China in 1999. My hometown is filled with rivers and canals, which historically was the city’s main channel for commerce. I lived and studied in tropical Singapore between 2009 and 2018. After that, I moved to London in 2019 where I studied Fine Art (2019-22) and Design Management (2022-23) at University of the Arts London.

I am currently pursuing my master’s in Social Anthropology at University of Aberdeen to interrogate ideas on and related to human and non-human relationships, material and materiality, and human perception, through an environmental anthropology perspective, which forces me to step outside of myself and engage with how other people think.

My earlier works are quite personal as they came from introspecting my own life experiences and memories with places I have been in. Although I am also very interested in painting, I have not included any painting works here as I am still figuring out how and what to paint. I developed an interest in engaging with others’ perspectives and experiences to understand the world we all live in collectively, and am keen to pursue it through my study in anthropology.

My soft interventions/ practice-based approaches on the urban environments are grouped under the tab ‘Social Intervention’, introspective works are under ‘2D Works’, and more experimental approaches are under ‘Performative Experimentation’. I have also included a short narrative film that I made in 2018. I have directed, shot and edited company interview footages for an internship I did with the IT company 3vjia, and made other documentary films on my own.
